I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
The above is a quote by Michael Jordan and its commonly heard by many.
When I see a potential adviser and tries to recruit him or her have the stigma to be known as a ‘financial advisor’ and worried that their friends or relatives may shun them. While I understand that worry, I must say such situation is less common these days. And frankly, I faced a few such incidents when I first started my career 15 years ago. But it set me thinking if those are really my friends. I am glad most of my friends and relative are still around me today and reading this.
And a common reason for not entering the financial advisory services is the fear of failure. I had always stressed the insurance industry has a history of 100 over years. My company has been around for more than 10 years. I’m in business for 15 years and none of us have go belly up yet. I have to agree this industry is not a easy one but tell me a job that is…
However, to fail in this industry is even tougher than surviving in one. Nobody knows what one can do until he do it. With that, may I end with another quote.
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take -Wayne Gretzky.
